This week we will make you discover the artists whose paintings and engravings ornate the walls of our suites and rooms.
The paintings
In the Bar, you will find "T114, a painting by Frédéric Heurlier Cimolai, using the ancestral technique of Tempera. Frédéric Heurlier Cimolai draws random frames in which appear timeless and dreamy shapes.
In the rooms and common spaces, we find the colorful works of Jessica Martin but also in the ones of Noémie Cédille whose collages mix simple shapes and graphic lines, forming poetic pieces of art on the border between narration and abstraction. In Inès Mélia's work too, the raw shapes are at the center of her work, by marrying them with soft colors for calming creations.
In the works of Naoki Kawano, you will find the Japanese concept of "ma": a balanced management of space thanks to airy, simple, graceful, and harmonious shapes. This balance is emphasized by the work of colors.
Sacrée Frangine, a duo of female artists offers you a minimalist illustration of everyday life, an expression of the beauty of simple things, always using soft tones.
While many artists play with colors, the palette of Kat Klerks, a Dutch artist, is simple: ochre, earth tones, whites, and blacks. The faces she paints are drawn in a single line, their imperfection giving her paintings their full meaning. As a contrast, the shapes found in Ludovic Philippon's colored works are sharp, geometric, and traced with certainty.
Another work of the lines, that of Pola Carmen who presents at Hotel Lou Pinet her series "Les Possibles", work of research of balance between line and color.
Engravings
Engraving consists in drawing on plate of a copper or zinc for example, coating it with pigments and then passing it through a press so that it leaves its imprint on paper. Some engravings are then reworked with paint, as for example the engravings of Isabelle Beraut. Inspired by nature, she tries to reproduce the movement of the wind, always the same but always different. In his works, Renaud Allirand, for his part, proposes series of reinterpretations of music scores, landscapes, and stained glass, such as the engraving you will find at Hotel Lou Pinet.
