Hotel Lou Pinet’s art trail (1/2)

At Hotel Lou Pinet, as in each of the hotels of the Maisons Pariente collection, numerous artworks decorate our walls and gardens. Paintings, ceramics, carpets… can be found be in every nook and cranny. Keep your eyes open!

This week, we will explore the pieces that can be found in our common areas.

Rhizomes, carpet on the wall

As soon as you start your stay at Lou Pinet, you will be captivated by the play of colors on Charlotte Culot‘s carpet, which covers the wall of the reception area. Fascinated with textures and color, Charlotte Culot puts the latter at the center of her work. Lou Pinet’s carpet is part of the “Rhizomes” collection, created in limited edition. Made with materials of the highest quality, wool, silk, and linen are sewed with the technique of the “noué main” (hand knotted).

Ceramics

You will find artwork by Roger Capron, a French ceramist who modernized the traditional curves of Provençal pottery, but also the plates of the ceramist Jean Lurçat, exhibited at the conciergerie. In the latter, one finds fauvist, cubist, and surrealist influences. Lurçat was essentially a symbolist: his stylized drawings often represent his favorite symbols, such as the rooster or the sun.
